2. Introductory provisions
These terms and conditions govern the rights and obligations between the seller and the buyer in the sale of goods through the online shop at teamates.sk. The buyer is a natural or legal person who submits an order.
By submitting an order the buyer confirms that they have read these terms and agree to them. Matters not governed by these terms are governed by Act No. 40/1964 Coll. (the Civil Code) and Act No. 108/2024 Coll. on consumer protection (effective from 1 July 2024, replacing Acts No. 250/2007 Coll. and No. 102/2014 Coll.).
3. Order and conclusion of the contract
The buyer creates an order by adding goods to the cart and submitting it at checkout. Before submitting, they can check and edit the details entered. A submitted order is a proposal to conclude a purchase contract.
The purchase contract arises when the seller confirms the order to the buyer’s email. The seller confirms receipt of the order without undue delay.
4. Prices and payment
The prices of goods are shown with each product and are final (the seller is not a VAT payer). The shipping price is shown at checkout according to the chosen delivery method.
Payment can be made:
- by card online (Comgate) - the order is processed immediately after payment,
- by bank transfer - the payment details (IBAN and variable symbol) are sent to you by email; we ship the goods once the amount is credited.
The buyer receives the tax document (invoice) electronically together with the order confirmation or after payment.
5. Delivery of goods
We deliver the goods via Packeta (Zásielkovňa) - pickup points and courier to Slovakia and the Czech Republic, or personal pickup is possible. Shipping methods and prices are listed on the Shipping & payment page. The usual delivery time is 2-5 business days from receipt of payment; the seller is obliged to deliver the goods no later than 30 days from acceptance of the order.
The buyer acquires ownership of the goods upon full payment of the purchase price; if they paid in advance, they acquire it upon receipt of the goods. The risk of damage to the goods passes to the buyer at the moment of receipt.
6. Withdrawal from the contract (return within 14 days)
A buyer who is a consumer has the right to withdraw from the contract without giving a reason within 14 days of receiving the goods (§ 19 and § 20 of Act No. 108/2024 Coll.). The deadline is met if the notice of withdrawal is sent to the seller before it expires (e.g. by email to shop@teamates.sk).
Return the goods undamaged, ideally in the original packaging. The buyer may only test the goods to the extent necessary to establish their nature and characteristics; they are liable for any diminished value of the goods resulting from handling beyond that. The seller will refund the paid funds (including the cheapest offered delivery method) within 14 days of withdrawal, using the same payment method. Details and the form are on the Returns & complaints page.
The right of withdrawal does not apply to tea and other goods in sealed hygienic packaging if the packaging was broken after delivery - for hygiene reasons, opened tea cannot be returned for resale.
7. Complaints and warranty
The goods are covered by statutory liability for defects. For accessories and other consumer goods the warranty period is 24 months from receipt. Tea is food - liability for defects is tied to the best-before (use-by) date stated on the packaging; please follow the recommended storage.
The complaint procedure, deadlines and manner of settlement (within 30 days of filing at the latest) are set out on the Returns & complaints page.
8. Personal data protection
We process personal data to the extent necessary to fulfil the order, in accordance with the GDPR. Details are in the Privacy policy document.
9. Supervision and alternative dispute resolution
The supervisory authority is the Slovak Trade Inspection, SOI Inspectorate for the Bratislava Region, Bajkalská 21/A, 820 07 Bratislava 27 (soi.sk).
The buyer has the right to ask the seller for redress if they are not satisfied with how a complaint was handled. If the seller replies negatively or does not reply within 30 days, the buyer has the right to submit a proposal to initiate alternative dispute resolution to an ADR entity (Act No. 391/2015 Coll.) - e.g. the Slovak Trade Inspection. A proposal may be submitted if the value of the dispute exceeds 20 €; the ADR entity may charge the consumer a fee of at most 5 €. Disputes can also be resolved online via the ec.europa.eu/consumers/odr platform.
10. Final provisions
The seller reserves the right to change these terms and conditions; the version in effect at the time an order is submitted applies to that order. These terms take effect on the day they are published.
